Since day one, we’ve been on a mission to make configuration management easier, safer, and more scalable for engineering teams.
Along the way, we’ve had the chance to work with incredible companies – from early-stage startups to Fortune 500s – helping them prevent production issues and regain control over their configs through our managed SaaS platform.
Now, we’re entering a new chapter.
In this article:
What’s changing
We’ve decided to focus the future of Configu around our open source offering. As part of this shift, we’ll be winding down the managed Configu Platform (app.configu.com) on March 1, 2026.
This doesn’t mean Configu is going away. In fact, we believe open source is the most powerful way to solve configuration at scale, with flexibility and transparency at its core.
What This Means
1. The managed platform will shut down on March 1, 2026
You’ll continue to have full access and support until then.
2. We’ve built export tools and a migration guide
You can easily move your configurations to the open source Store.
3. Support isn’t going anywhere
If you’re an existing customer or running Configu at your company, we’ll help you continue using it – just on your own infrastructure.
4. We continue to offer enterprise support
If you’re currently using or planning to use Configu in production, reach out. We’re still offering support packages to help teams run Configu reliably, securely, and with confidence.
5. Prorated refunds
For those on annual or multi-year plans, we’ll refund the unused portion of your subscription.
6. Open source will be actively maintained
We’re still building, improving, and supporting Configu every day – just with the community at the center.
What’s next
This shift allows us to double down on what we love most: building tools that developers actually enjoy using. We’re excited to keep growing the Configu open source ecosystem with your feedback, contributions, and ideas.
If you have questions or want help with the migration, talk to us here.
Thanks for being part of this journey – and we’d love for you to follow along as Configu evolves.
